Meet our Faculty
Kristin Winchester
Theatre Ensemble, Theatre Studio, Theatre Studio Honors
Kristin Winchester has been at Durham School of the Arts since 2015. During this time, she has rejuvenated the International Thespian Society-taking students to compete at the State and National level for theatre with much success. She has always been a storyteller, directing her first production at her church at the age of 12. While studying to be an actor, she decided that she wanted to spend her time teaching and inspiring young theatre artists to pursue this as a hobby/possible profession. Ms. Winchester fully believes in the power of the arts, and what they can instill in the human soul. She holds two degrees, English and Theatre Education from the University of Northern Colorado. She is trained in the International Phonetic Alphabet, Musical Theatre, Meisner, and Bogart technique, and has sent many students off to college to pursue the theatrical arts. Kristin is the recipient of the 2022 Inspiring Teacher award from the Broadway League.
